Welcome to
The Manga
Library

The Manga Library is an organization and club that is currently based in Swanson Middle School. We are on a mission to help young students start their reading journeys by introducing a fun and more accessible genre.

our past

The Manga Library started in mid-March of 2023 as a small, simple book collection that students at Ashlawn Elementary could borrow from, but quickly picked up steam. By the end of May, The Manga Library started its first fundraiser, a GoFundMe. Which in only a few days gained $600 making it our first and most successful fundraiser (so far). After reaching 100 books at the start of summer, The Manga Library took a break in activity but just a short 3 months later, we had reached 150 books and already started our new club at Swanson Middle School. Then after a few weeks we started our next fundraiser, Manga Mania. Manga Mania was an invite only raffle fundraiser that was held at Cameron’s house on October 28th. Manga Mania, our second fundraiser made $300 which allowed us to reach our goal of 200 books. At Manga Mania Cameron’s former 5th grade teacher and host of The Manga Library invited him to present to her class and teach them about the wonders of reading. We agreed on a date to do the presentation, February 23 and we started the journey of our 3rd fundraiser. The Manga Library club at Swanson decided on a raffle and to ask for a sponsorship. The raffle and sponsorship with One More Page Books were both a huge success allowing us to donate a total of around 50 manga books ($500) for Ashlawn elementary school. Which brings us to now.
